Today, Tomorrow, And The Next Day

I've been saying for years that "Spring Break" in the US should be later in spring. This past week and the forecast for the week ahead are proof of that. Not that anyone can predict the weather with 100% accuracy, but having Spring Break always hover around Easter rarely works out well, especially when Easter is in March.

We had a nice time with my wife's family on Sunday, but we did get rained on towards the end. The forecast for the rest of the week is not looking good either. My teenage daughter and I are going to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA on Thursday, and it looks like we're going to be suffering through cold temps, rain, and high winds; although the outlook has improved slightly over the last 24 hours. Thankfully, my wife planned to take our youngest daughter to Massanutten for some indoor activities on Friday, so other than driving there they should be unaffected by the weather.

The luckiest of us all is my other teenage daughter, who is currently exploring the Dominican Republic with a teacher and some classmates. She's had great weather and an amazing experience so far. Today she's going to an environmental school and doing white water rafting. Later in the week, they will be doing some hiking and snorkeling. I've been getting periodic updates, but I can't wait to hear all about her trip when she gets home.

That's about it for now. Tonight, my wife and I are going to have dinner and play trivia at a local brewery. If it's not raining this weekend, I'll be mowing the grass for the first time this year, and we'll get started on mulching the vegetable garden. Other than that, life is not all that exciting right now. Which is fine in my book.
