Weekend Happenings
Friday night, my wife had book club here. Only a few of the ladies were able to make it. They brought their kids, most of whom are the same age as our youngest, 13, so they had a good time taking silly selfies and playing the Switch.
One of our twin daughters (18) was here and hung out with me which was a lot of fun. It's nice to know that our kids actually want to hang out with us. I guess we're not that lame after all. 😝
Saturday I spent most of the day with just me, myself, and I. The wife and kids had places to be and things to do. I got caught up on some personal chores and watched Pluribus. I only have a couple of episodes left. That is a fantastic show.
Sunday was spent walking around the mall at Tyson's Corner Center. I say walking around because not much shopping was actually done. The girls did end up buying a few things here and there but everything is so expensive and we've raised kids who are very price conscious. Mostly we just enjoyed spending time together and eating at the conveyor belt sushi place in the mall. 🍣
Back to the grind today. Looks like it's going to be a busy week. I'm sad the Olympics are over. It's been giving me so much joy. I'm really happy for all of our athletes for not only going over there and giving their best performances, but also for truthfully speaking their minds when asked about the current political situation in the States. Maybe the future is still worth saving.
